I want to repair the flat-black painted areas on my satellite's bezels, they are dinged up/scratched/faded...What would be a good paint that looks original and will withstand the elements? Any tips for smoothing/prepping theses areas?
Thanks!
(Here's a generic picture of what I have)

I would think a little steel wool to roughen up a little and some Rustoleum flat. All you have to worry about is rock/road debris.

I'm watching this thread as my Road Runner's bezels could use some TLC. The painted areas are actually acceptable, but the bright work has it's share of pits, rash, scratches, etc.

I did try two different types of metal polish. The shine will blind you, but the rash and scuffs are still there. I can live with it, but will try any tips from the experts.

Bill I think there's some posts on here about that condition. Haven't done it myself, but it doesn't sound good for someone like myself that doesn't like to spend hours on end doing it. (get bored easily!)
