Latest issue. Power to both ends of the 20A fuse labeled Tail lights/cig lighter. I have No brake lights, instrument lights or cig lighter. Headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and flashers all work. What Now? Thanks
When I was sorting out my GTX's electricals (and it had a ton of issues to begin with), first thing I did was get out the factory service manual for the wiring diagrams.
Wiring diagrams are also available here: http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=27
If you've got a voltmeter (or at least a test light), you'll figure it out. Good luck!
the fuse you mention feeds al brake lights, cigar lighter AND hazzard lights ( not turn ligths thought, since this is an ACC source not a batt source )
there is something weird I'm having at that fuse too sometimes, gets heat able to burn baddly your finger if you touch it, at this moment my brake lights are not working and being they are unable to get the power through the fuse, this status makes dim the dome light and map light maybe trying to get the power from somewhere else. The heat is so intense that has melt the fuse box around the fuse. I just can think on a bad contact there but I HAVE CLEANED the fuse clamps and still makes it sometimes ( well, my car is dissasembled since 2013, but it made it untill that moment )
my next bid could be SOME bulb/socket on tail lights is not getting a good ground or power source and is shorting out somehow with the parking/dome light source what reachs same bulbs and socket assembly, which is also constant from batt linked to the same buss bar on fusebox. will know later.
I was looking at the wiring diagram. I noticed that of the two output connections of that fuse, the cigarette lighter is the most simple. Sometimes the most simple circuit is the best place to start.
From the fuse output there is a red wire that goes directly to the cigarette lighter. It's all in the dash harness and there doesn't appear to be any other junctions or connections associated with it.
Have you dropped the fuse panel to look at the connections underneath?
