Hi All,

When I bought my car, the PO had many parts in boxes, still needing to be put on. I’m coming down to the homestretch of the interior and I’m pretty sure these pieces go over the weatherstripping on the upper window of the door. But I don’t know how they are supposed to mount. Anyone have any pictures of how this bolts up and how the weatherstripping attaches to it?

Thanks very much,
Mikey.

There should be some clips like this in the channel of that trim. It will push up against the headliner on each side.

Yep, as 70rrclone said, these are painted cover strips that push on (with the abovementioned clips inserted into them) to the metal pinch seem along each side of the car covering the headlining edge, giving it a nice neat finished edge.

Awesome. Thanks very much. Right now, the PO put up black flexible trim that I suppose has to come down. The weatherstripping, however, is screwed into the little holes in the roof along the top of the door edge. Is that correct? And how does this metal piece fit over/with the weatherstripping above the door? If at all. And.. what is this piece called so I can look it up in the FSM?

Thanks again,
Mikey

Ok, so there should also be stainless trim that goes on, after a little gasket, right under the drip rail, another goes down the a pillar and slides in the long over window part. The pieces you have go on the inside, overlapping the inside edge of stainless and covering the headliner seam. The weatherstripping goes in the channel of the stainless. What is on there now? Windlace?

Something like this. The stainless goes on screwed to the body. Weather stripping tucked in the channel (pita) these black pieces are like the ones you have. Different car. Same design
