So redoing my dash and got the correct speakers from Electro-tec. Figured out the center 4x10 speaker mount thanks to a generous member on here got the correct bracket. The two small on the sides are now in question. The speaker grills are like hens teeth apparently. Looked at new/reproduction.....ouch$. Typical Charger I see lol. Wondering how the speakers and grills mount to the dash frame. Speaker frame holes are large so they wont accept a screw without some type of u clip maybe? Holes in dash frame are tight to hold a screw maybe for grill but does that same screw hold the speaker up too? Looked in my David Wise book but no pics. Got me curious.

I thought the speakers had clips on them? Screw from the top of dash through speaker grill, through dash and into speakers.

Speakers were new so no clips. That kind of makes sense. Best place for aftermarket grills?

Well got a set of original front speaker grills and screws on fleabay. Seems weird to me. The screws are tight in the dash frame but at the same time have to be tight in the speaker u-clips also? So is it essentially double nutted so to speak? Also looking for the correct orientation of the grill itself. It is wider on one side than the other. Does wide side go to the front of car? Towards inside? I got one of the Wise books from MMC maybe that will help.
