Nice progress. I think it was a very wise decision you made to move forward with getting all the metalwork done at this time. Looks like you have a very capable body guy who is doing a great job. Even at $75/hr compared to 95, I sure wouldn't want that bill, but it will be like new when he is done.

Yes I’m glad I went ahead with it too. It’ll be staying in black epoxy for a long time though lol He’ll be at 480-500 hours to get it in final epoxy!!!!

Vinyl top went on earlier this week. Can’t believe what a difference it makes!

Headliner and accessories installed yesterday. The shop owner is letting me do a bunch of assembly while it’s at his shop, which is very generous of him!

Also getting the firewall sorted out. Should have replaced the plastic wiper linkage clips which broke apart when I went to install them so now I have to wait a bit.

Been picking away at little things, taking advantage of the shop space. Today was huge, I got the dash in. I feel like I’ve passed a milestone!

Way past due for an update. Car was finally out of the body shop and straight to my buddy's shop for engine install!

Engine and trans install went in relatively smooth. The headers were mounted just to check fit then taken off for the install. Ran into a minor issue with the headers…they were hitting the torsion bars. The driver side header couldn’t even go in.

More from install weekend. The other big surprise was that the driveshaft that I took out was now too long. I didn’t realize that small blocks are not as long as long blocks!

The last piece of the puzzle is the hood. Decided to adapt my original hood until I can afford to get a lift off hood from AAR.

I was pretty bummed out with my Summit headers and should have ordered TTI to begin with but I was trying to save some money. So after the Summit ones didn’t fit I decided to bite the bullet on TTIs but there were none available for months so I took my car to a local speed shop and they modified mine to fit. They went a little beyond the dimpling I was expecting! They turned out pretty nice.

I got some rims and tires from my buddy, he painted them black and I threw my dog dish caps on them! Love the look!

I found out that the original kickdown linkage wouldn’t work with the high rise intake so I bought the Lokar cable and decided to go with a new throttle cable set up as well. It works really well and looks good too!

Finally got my hood finished, it turned out pretty good for having a fibreglass scoop riveted to the original hood.
