At least pull the heads.With what I have seen by tearing down old engines that have set for decades. I have seen some valves where the heads have broke from their stems. Valve seals all dried up and crumbled. Plastic timing gear ready to strip at fire-up. There is no way I would chance ruining a good core engine by trying to start it.
