Hey thanks folks! I'm enjoying tearing into this car weld by weld, being very careful as I go! One thing I don't like is the floor nestled between the rocker panels! This adds a LOT of time to removing the floor and the trim associated with it.
I got the right rocker (outside) off with no damage to inner rocker panel, got the left rocker separated from floor pan with most of the trim removed from between the layers. Had to cut out the section of qtr panels where the rear seat window resides to gain easier access to removing spot welds. Gotta be careful to not remove the wheelhouses yet as they are supporting the car until I can get the rear section of the dolly/carriage made for this vehicle. Half of it is done now, but, making/adding another section is neccessary to repair/replace the rear trunk. Also, I will be building a 'coathanger' around this car welding two extrusions to the deck filler lid to keep it immobile when the wheelhouses and qtrs and trunk floor comes out. When this happens, it surely will be a frightening sight, I will be sure to have lots of pictures!
And, now that I got this update out of the way, know that my Dad was just diagnosed with Cancer, bone cancer what it looks like so far...so, I don't know how and what is going on with him over the next couple of weeks, but, the Doctors found a growth the size of an Orange on his shoulder blade! Wish him luck!!!
