The other day I noticed the trunk lid on my 70 coronet, the left side corner by the hinge has a hole punched in it. But the right side does not. I thought maybe it was a factory error. But searching FBBO, every picture of a 70 coronet has only a hole on the left side. Anyone know a reason for this?

Maybe a holdover in the stamping for when there were vacuum actuated trunk latches. A vacuum line with a grommet went through that hole to the latch on the trunk lid. My 69 Satellite has one. Wouldn't work on a 70 though since it looks like the latch mechanism is on the body of the car instead of mounted to the trunk lid. These might be a c body thing.
