Whipped up some "pivot plates" for the headlight buckets. Depending on where these are clocked, they allow virtually unlimited adjustment of the headlight pivot location within the center hole.

Spun up some mounts for the actuators. I love having a lathe and mill.

They will mount on the bottom of the headlight bucket like so....

Yes they are nice to have around, hoping to buy some of my dad's machines for the new garage. Cincinnati Toolmaster mill and a Monarch lathe but he probably won't part with the Monarch lol. Keep it up!

I don't keep track of hours or dollars spent as both totals would make me sick, lol. I didn't keep track when I built the shop, either. I just bought materials as I could afford to and kept pace installing the products purchased. I'm Doing the same on this project.

Had to add some gussets to the nose to solidify the mounts.

They will also allow some side to side adjustment once it's all ready for final assembly.

For those that might be confused on how this nose will mate up to the body, this photo should help.

These tubes will go inside some tubes extending off the radiator yoke. Hopefully I'll have some time around the holidays to finish the mount bars.

That's a lot of pieces to get lined up, good work.

just got done going thru this thread again and all I can say is WOW what a great job you have done looking forward to more to come thanks for sharing this with us :thankyou:

Thanks guys. This nose has been a real tedious task on my list. I changed the mounting plans midstream to make it easier to remove and I'm glad I did. I have a ton more metalwork to do but it will have to wait as I have several engines to build this winter including this one. :D

You just can't get enough of good craftsmanship. It's coming out great. I'm following this all the way til the end, AT THE TRACK!!!

You know that's where this story will just begin. Track...testing...drag week...mopar nats...maxton mile....more testing...bigger turbos...faster ET and speeds... I'll need to go back in to get bigger kahonies just to handle the upgrades!

Well that didn't work out. Turns out the bottom of the hood is hitting the bar.

No worries though as I have a solution that will probably be more pleasing to the eye but it will have to wait until the weekend.

That happens a lot when fabbing.....Back to the Acme drawing board.:)
