Hi,
Going back to factory tank after 35 years with a fuel cell and trying to figure out the vent lines. Which one of the two vent pipes on the upper left of the tank does the long vent pipe that goes up in the trunk hook to? The left or right if you’re standing behind the car. My FSM isn’t real clear.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Short to long and long to short be it in the tank or out. To confirm which is long or short in the tank shoot some low pressure air in the tube and listen for the discharge point. Front is the short and bumper end is the long. This is an important step as many of the repo tanks have the factory position switched which makes no difference other than if you hook up short to short you will have gas on the floor with a full tank and any nose down parking.

Thanks for the advice. Makes perfect sense. Never thought of using air to determine the long and short in the tank.
