72 chrger hood release question ?

my 72 has a fiberglass hood on it, it has the underdash cable release, however, the cable is froze to the point the no longer moves, had to disconct the bracket and pull the whole cable to release hood, could i just remove the whole latch assembly and use the hood pins and mayby the safety catch ? thoughts ?

Sure. And if you are one that's forgetful and might not put the pins in, for sure use the safety catch....

thanks Cranky, I try to be very careful about the pins, hate the head basher hanging down, but better safe than sorry

Maybe find and retrofit an outside hood release (pull lever in grille)? I know the Plymouth's had them.
