It seems the inside bucket seat track (the side opposite the release handle) for this 1972 Satellite Sebring Plus just freewheels, meaning it slides forward and backward without any ratcheting at all. Is this normal? I would have thought that both tracks would be tied into the release handle and would share the chore of locking the seat in place. The way it is, from a safety standpoint, it seems awfully weak just to lock the seat in place using one side. I made this observation after removing the seats to renew the upholstery.
