It is basically the same! But it depends on if it has the log or short tail shaft! If it has the short shaft you'll have to change to the long one! BTW it should have a 4 gear planetary in it which is a good thing!
The rv trans may also have the park brake drum attached to it and like truck transitions there will be a stationary yoke at the tail shaft for driveshaft mounting.
You'll need to change the output shaft and tail housing, but the rest of the transmission is pretty much the same. Changing output shafts to the passenger car style will also get rid of the fixed yoke (and parking brake) so you can use the passenger car slip yoke.
I've done this swap with a late 73' rv trans. Bought a used 727 (car type) and built one good one out of the two. Car tailshaft and housing, rv case and guts. Tough as nails behind my 440 and going behind my hemi next.
