73 Runner to a 71

Hi all, a friend of mine is buying a 73 Runner and plans to change it to a 71 or 72, I know buy a 71 or 72 LOL, but can this be done? I thought when they changed the front bumper in 73 it would not be able to accept the wrap around style. Can this be done?

This has been discussed before, and I believe the body lines are completely different between a 72 and a 73. So while it is maybe possible to swap the fenders so it would accept the other style bumper, they wouldn't look right because of the body lines

Totally different bodies. The 73 is a coupe (RM21) and the 71-72 is a hard top (RM23). If you want a 71-72 buy a 71-72.

That doesn't necessarily mean much. Years ago I bought a 69 runner vert (RM27) that had a 69 Bee (WM21 or WM23) front end on it.
