I found a 79 full size small block 4 speed 4x4 truck at a salvage yard.
I know the clutch/brake pedal assy is different...and the shifter.
Is it worth pulling?
What all could I use?
What all won't work in a 73/74 B body?
I'm assuming the bell housing and trans would be OK.
Is there a tailshaft issue?
How about the Z bar, fork, and linkage?

There is a possibility that the trans in the 79 truck is a heavy duty truck trans that will be geared way to low for a car. If the truck is a 1/2 ton it could also be a light duty overdrive unit but it will still be geared to low for a car. The other issue is that there is no tailshaft on a 4X4 trans so you will need the long tailshaft for a B-Body.
