There are 2 gaskets for the ends of the rear end, both with 5 bolt holes. 1 is a white foam type gasket and the other is a tin gasket. which one goes between the backing plate and tube housing and which one goes between the actual splined axle and backing plate? Also, any RTV recommended anywhere? Looking at the instructions on the FSM, it doesnt really say which gasket goes where.. Thanks!!

Foam between tube & backing plate (outside), and the metal goes between the backing plate & the adjuster plate (inside).

From the FSM.

Should be metal gasket between brake backing plate and axle housing. White foam goes between axle flange(this is where you bolt axle down) and brake backing plate.

No RTV needed. You should be using inner tube seals as well, unless you are going green bearing.

^^ correct. The metal gasket goes between the axle housing and the brake backing plate. The foam gasket goes between the backing plate and the axle retainer plate. Purpose is the retainer plate's axle seal and the foam keep any oil / grease leakage off of the brakes and if that's happening it should leak out the metal gasket side.
