8 3/4 rear end noise

I am a new member and this is my first post. Hope someone can help with my issue. I have recently replaced my rear end with a 3:55 chrysler limited slip setup. There is a strange noise coming from the rear end under light throttle. It only happens at certain speeds but it is very annoying. I thought my rear end was defective and replaced it with another brand new unit and nothing changed. all bearings and universal joints are also new. And this noise was not there in my original 323 'open' rear end. I am open to any ideas or advice.

Did you put in the sure grip additive?

Funny you say that,I too put 3.55 sure grip in my 64 Belvedere replacing the 2.76 sure grip.Same thing, slight wine on the drive side,light throttle,speeds around 25-40'ish,quiet on the coast side.Drove me nuts.No radio to turn up.Engine noise at highyway speeds drowned out the wine if it was still there. Can't say,for sure.It was a factory set up 742 pulled from a van.I was told that once the ring and pinion has a "set" pattern you may not be able to adjust out the noise.

Did you make sure the button that transfers axle preload threw the differential was installed and how did you set the axle endplay?
