My 4spd trans side cover’s shift levers threads are messed up. How does one go about fixing this issue? Is there a way other than replacing the whole part? If not I guess I’ll be in the hunt for replacements.
Thanks Matt

Is it all 3 forks or just one.
If you have visible threads and they are just nicked up ect you could try running a die down it to straighten them up.

Brewers rebuilds them if you send in your cores.

I wish it was as simple as chasing the threads. The reverse one is stripped right at the place the nut would tighten against the shift lever. I haven’t looked real close to see if this is machined into the part or it’s a threaded stud. Anyone know off hand?

It is a machined part of the lever. I recently just had to get a new one because the threads broke of when trying to remove the nut due to how rusty mine was.
