Im trying to Decide if I Should Get my 1971 Charger Acid Dipped or Media Blasted as Well as trying to Locate a reliable Persons to Do the work.
Im in the Middle Of Ohio, so Which Should I Do , And Where?

I've hear bad things about dipping. From what I've read, it's incredibly hard to ensure that it's completely neutralized and will sometimes seep out and ruin paint. Personally, I am going to have my 73 blasted. It's reasonable money, less than having it dipped I am sure. The worst thing would be some media gets stuck in a rail and eventually works it's way out. I'm taking it to someone reputable that I know won't warp the panels.

call jr, at auto-metal strippers` 440-439-4550 there real good i`ved used them alot good results .

The acid dip process is the most effective for rust removal. It will also remove any and all sealer and fillers. You get an honest car back, (which can sometimes be a little scary). If dipped then e-cote is recommended to protect the "caged" areas.
Media blast is nice also, but is limited to exposed areas only. It is not effective in rust removal and will nor remove most old sealers or fillers unless it's already loose.

Dipping and e-cote is much more expensive then media blasting also. But it will perserve your car for your lifetime, if thats important. I'm not sure where you may find a stripper near you, google it...! I take my stuff to a place in Jackson Mississippi.

If your in Ohio I would suggust contacting "International Paint Strippers" in Romulus Mich. They offer the best process I have ever used... no acid... no media.... reasonable cost. Ask for Mark or Joe.

Dipping and e-coat on our 57 chev body, doors, trunk lid, hood, both fenders and a truck load of misc parts came in at just under 4K. Not cheap but it will never have a rust issue again.
