AMD roof panel, to quarter

Does the roof skin go behind, or on top where it meets the quarter? 1970 Road Runner, with vinyl top.

On top of. I mean if it went under, water would just track right into the crack. Overlapping is like a shingle on a house.

it goes on top.......if replacing only the quarter, I cut off the flange and make my own after the fact......
