Used to as a kid. Last model was a GTX I started while I was in the USAF in Alsaka. Paint didn't go well so I stripped it using Purple Power. Got some line green paint now just need to fire up the air brush.

Here's some old ones from when I was a kid...

I have a 1968 Roadrunner model car , new in the box. I've had it for many years, and intended to make it look like my 68 Roadrunner that we ordered new. Not sure if the current glue will work on the old plastic. Also , can someone make it look like a vinyl roof? Now I can't see well enough to put it together...Anyone interested in building it for me? ........................MO
Steve - You could get a magnifying glass that you don't have to hold. I don't think the plastic of the new models is much or any different from the old ones.

I've built several vintage kits this past year, and the new glue works fine.

That Zero came out really well, Mike. I have a half built 70 GTX id like to finish, then I want to do some WW2 aircraft like the B29.

Some of the GMP diecast is so good it makes me want to give up on the plastic kits, at least with the cars.

Dave, thanks for going to the trouble of finding those links for me. I have just a little periphrieal (sp) vision in one eye, and just enough in the other eye to keep my drivers license. Depth perception close up is not good. I use a headband style magnifiers that help a lot , but after just a few minutes of trying to solder a couple of small wires together , I'm having a hard time... I can still drive though ! .........................MO

My kids bought me this fastback Barracuda last Christmas. Was a real fiddly nightmare to build and I stuffed up the paint job and lost interest in the detailing after doing a decent job of the engine, but it was satisfying in the end (although not done to the standard of the other models in this thread).

I used to have a few plastic model cars back as a kid but my dad and I were into the balsa wood ww2 warbirds. We built a ton.. He started teaching me about it then I did my own. We did a bunch. I can’t remember them all. Ones I can, hellcats, spitfires, corsairs, P40 flying tigers, p51, bf109, b25, b17 (that was a hard one) and the toughest one was the p38. Just to keep double engine and tail section straight with balsa and covering. Fun to do but very tedious! After he passed in 87 I haven’t done one since.. really no time to do either! But very fond memories! I tried to locate some old photos but couldn’t. I’ll keep looking..

I used to love the AMT "annual" issues.

Some of those still have not been reintroduced.

This has me re-thinking my 1/24 70 GTX because I already have the body painted. Make it RC with 3D printed chassis.
