I'm asking for a Jeep application, but they make them for D60 as well so maybe someone here has experience with them. Basically they drop in, in place of the pin and spider gears, and you go from open diff to limited slip/full lock without having to pull the ring and pinion apart.

Still gives full differential operation in turns, up to a full 50/50 locker setup when needed. They say it will allow a wheel to turn faster than the input speed (turns), but will not allow one to turn slower than the input speed (traction). Thinking about getting a pair for my Jeep (D30 front, D35 rear), and wanted to see if anyone had used them before. Thanks!

They are cheap and will work. Best in the rear. If you have locking hubs they are ok on the street in the front. Without locking hubs they will tend to grab at odd times on the street.

I don't have any experience with those, though I was gonna try one in my 3.50 open nine inch.
I ended up changing my mind, bought a 4.10 aluminum center with a spool instead.
I have a Detroit locker in my 8 3/4, I like it. So, I'd give it a try in a street application. Still considering one for my 3.50 center.

No locking hubs, just a stock D30 front axle with a part time transfer case.

But I get what you're saying.

IMO 3 wheel drive is better than 2 lol. Unless I find a matched D44/D30 with trac-loc and 3.73s...

Selectable in the front is best as your steering is better when open

Please in the name if all that is holy....do not spend one thin dime on that Dana 35. It's a piece of crap.
The front 30 with a lunchbox locker will hold up if you have a vacuum disconnect...or add lockout hubs. If you dont...it will be flat DANGEROUS!
Personally...a ford 8.8 rear (gets you disk rear) and easy to find with a good ratio. Can also be narrowed fairly easily.
Dana 44 front....or a matched pair from a rubicon...4.10s...air locker.. easy!

P.s.....it took 3 edits to undo what AI decided "I really meant to say".
Dime became dimensions
Disconnect became disconnection
Rubicon became Romanian

Pray for John Connor!
