A friend of mine is looking to sell her dad's 75 vette and doesn't know where to go. Anyone know an active vette forum that we could post it on?

The car is a major project / parts car (I'm guessing) since it has been sitting under a car cover for about 10 years.

Gracias, mi amigos.

I can see why.......

I'd say junk yard .

But raceing junk .com is ok it's a multitude of different things I've seen project cars sell quick on there then there's good old c.l. and eBay try putting it in her garage and put a few things around it get some dust and put it all over it make sure people driving but get a glimpse of the front end a bit and I bet it sells in a week for some reason I put a car on a corner it won't sell leave it in the garage with some crap on it and I get 3-4 people stopping by asking about it .people see it out for sale and think ah it must be junk or not rare no one else bought it yet .they see it in a garage covered and think oh my god this could be a ultra rare car and I just found it. Then the whole time they're looking aat it say no it's not for sale then towards when there getting ready to leave say you know what I like you and I think your going to take car of my baby make me a good offer and maybe I'll sell it to you. I sware it works I got more money for a car one time by doing this.(I really didn't want to sell ) but he wanted it more then me (a lot more)
Good luck
By the way any pictures and info plus a price? I might know someone who might be interested. Is the bird cage in it nice?

Just be aware that a "project" C3, unless there are LOTS of new in the box parts, is probably going to fetch less than $1500.

Yep... 73-83 cars bring nothing. In fact, most of the Vette folks I know wouldn't be caught dead with one in their garages. One guy bought a 77 a couple of years ago and caught so much grief for it he sold it so some dopey kid for $100 a month later.

I would suggest painting it pink and passing it off as a chick car. :)

OTOH, I've been seeing a growing number of teenagers and erly 20-somethings driving C3's.

I guess they figured out they can have a reasonably reliable and super cheap and easy to work on/get parts for car that doesn't look like everything else and doesn't come with a $650 monthly payment.

$3500 77 corvette or $3500 02 kia rio?

(or $3500 down and payments for 7 years...)

Good for them.

My "new" neighbor bought a one owner 77 anniversary silver car with crazy low mileage, needs only minor interior work (faded carpet) and a radio (factory am/fm/cb).

$4500

From what I can tell, the interior is the most difficult and expensive thing about these.

The BEST forum out there, by far!
"WE" currently have a 80,000 mile 1978 Sliver Anniversary L-82 4-speed AC with oyster Leather interior.
A very fun and nimble car to drive
And yes: It is for sale.

You mean for Corvettes right? lol. I belong to Corvette forum too and it is the best one out there for Vettes. This link should bring you right to the C3 section. B Bodies is still my favorite forum!

Yup. The C3s and Some C4s are dirt cheap. You see nothing special, low mileage, good condition C3s selling in the 6-8K range. Even the Anniversary and Pace Car editions are a bargain right now. Doesn't make any sense to restore one.

Lol guys, nah, she is very realistic about the value of the car (or lack thereof). Especially given the condition. She's just trying to find the right home for it and doesn't want to deal with CL / eBay / etc. I'm the one who suggested she find a forum for it, as the members there might really appreciate it as either a project or even for parts (it's an L82 / 4 speed / leather interior coupe).

Yeah, I'm with ya on that. Heck, a professional paint job and prep would cost 2-3x what the car is worth, but that doesn't change the fact that some poeple still love the cars enough to revive them.

um 1 google entry...remember the computer is your friend

http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-corvettes-1968-1982-5/

Yeah I saw that forum when I initially searched, but I was looking for members opinions on which really is the best. Don't forget that a Google search for "mopar forum" and you come up with moparts, allpar, etc. yet we all know FBBO is king.

Here is a vette forum you can talk to other vette guys about your c3

Sounds like your car and hers are similarly optioned. She mentioned hers is a 4 speed L82, leather interior, though I'm pretty sure it's a coupe and I never asked about a/c.

She's under no dilusions, she knows the car has very little value. Heck, my dad's a vette guy and i grew up going to the corvettes at Carlisle show as a kid (went to at least 15 I them). She jist wants to find someone who won't scrap it.
