Its not the weight that will cost you, its the size.

I just shipped a 69 Coronet Bumper yesterday. Surprised at the cost. Only $33 from Pa to Wisconsin. 21 pounds, 6 ounces. I was expecting it to cost me between 40-50.

USPS. I ordered a new bumper and was hoping it would arrive first. Hoping to use the box perhaps to ship the one I just sold. But, they took too long to ship it. So, I just bought 2 rolls of heavy duty bubble wrap from Walmart at $5 each and wrapped in it that. That’s all you need. Put some extra padding on the sharp corners. Not a problem

Summit racing just shipped my leaf springs with an address tag attached. The ups driver was shocked and asked me to inspect when delivered.

Most people think everything has to be shipped in a box. It’s not true. All it needs is a shipping label. But, at the very least I try to wrap it in something protective on items such as a bumper. I’ve shipped dozens of items without boxes over the last several years. It’s not a problem. Some items just aren’t practical to put in a box.

Here is the actual answer to mt question. Got my original off today and weighed it.
30lbs with the lights and rubber bumper guards. I guess the aftermarkets must be a tad thiner...

True! I shipped bumpers from Las Vegas, NV to Detroit using USPS ground approx. $63.00. Now this is just the bumper shell only. No brackets, housings or bolts. Bumpers are ridged and won't get damaged. I used shrink wrap and small sections of cardboard for the sharp/pointy areas to dull them out. If you box them up it makes the total dimensions larger and takes them over the next size limit threshold, costing more shipping charges. People who charge $150-$200 to ship a bumper shell are charging way too much!! Unless it's a 1950's gigantic bumper lol.
