My 1969 Bee has the rally gauge package and a column shift 727. The factory tach works fine, I'm just sort of wanting an aftermarket tach/shift light for that "day two" look. I prefer to mount the tach on the steering column, however, the biggest piece of the column is for the column shifter and rotates, so what's left is a small portion of shaft nearest the dash/gauge cluster (about a 1" space to dash, then about 2"+ to gauge cluster face); then there's the part of the column in front of the column shifter where the gear "identifier" is (should be able to mount here?).
I'm looking at this Autometer tach, and Autometer provides no measurements other than gauge diameter so I have no way of measuring for fitment. For those who have column shift 727s, have you mounted a tach on the column and if so, how? I prefer not to have it on the dash.
