Does anyone know what the spline count on the ball and trunion is, and are there any other r&p the b&t can be used with ?

IDK the spline count. Sorry.
any other r&p the b&t can be used with ?

I'm a bit fuzzy on this. Isn't the ball and trunion up front making the rear end yoke like normal cars have?
Did you ask/equire to Randy's ring and pinion?

You're probably right, it makes sense. The car is in storage in another town
so it takes a while to go look at it. It's been 40 years since I did anything
with an early B-Body, one forgets. thx

The ball and trunion tranny's have a flange off the output shaft and the compensation for drive shaft length change (during suspension travel) is done in the joint assembly. Yes, the yoke on the 3rd member is a "normal" yoke and probably the smaller 7260 type.

I put a 489(3.23 ratio) case on the S.F.,and the rear u-joint went right on without problems. I'll presume 742's also have 7260-style yokes as well?
