Battery tray color

[1967 satellite]

On a 1967 Plymouth Satellite should the battery tray/brackets be body color or gloss black? I saw an original 66 belvedere red with all original paint and the tray and brackets were black.

Always body color. If it was black it was re-painted.

Keep in mind batteries commonly spilled acid back in th day and the trays led a hard life so it may have been replaced.
