Trying to get my gas tank out a 67 rt. Any help on how to remove it? The vent tube is covered with original undecoating. I cant find the bolts. Thanks

Maybe I'm not understanding the question... There should be 1" or so wide metal straps longitudinally, holding the fuel tank in place, up to the body, with J-bolts at the end...

And once those are off you can pul back and twist as you do to slide it off the filler neck. Filler neck can stay in place.

Incorrect, there is only one strap. I have a 66 and a 67 and both tanks in the shed.

No problem...we all do it. I believe you are correct with the later 68 and up with two straps though you would be my savior there as I have none :notworthy:
