I should have used a SEM product on my plastic door panels, but a couple of years ago the Rust-Oleum label claimed for plastic too.

Today the panels were off and needed very minor touch-up on the bottom edge. I used blue masking tape on the plastic ridge molded into the panel near the bottom where I figured the touch-up would not be obvious.

I carefully pulled the tape off an hour later, which took a little paint off here and there, making things worse instead of better. Serves me right for trying to do things half-***.

Sorry you had to find out the hard way. Rustoleum=half assed, just ask at an automotive paint store.

Welcome to the school of hard knocks!
