That’s an interesting comment. But at least on the flywheel, that I’ve made 3-4 (can’t remember for sure) complete cycles and the results have repeated themselves typically within .0005”. Even after stoning the surfaces and remounting and torquing the FW, I reset the dial indicator on the same reading at the same initial point today and the results only varied no more than .001” from yesterday. So I don’t think my crank is walking around in the thrust clearance enough to affect the results unless it’s doing it in a repeating cyclic pattern.
On the crank flange, the radius from centerline will be about half or a little less of the center of the disc friction material radius so even a .002” runout could possibly run up to .004” on the FW at the center of the disc friction material. If I find that to be the case it will be a live with it for now issue until the next rebuild.
