Belvedere/Satellite Rear Speaker

Just wondering if anyone has a factory rear speaker in their car, and if it came with a cover (screen) over the actual speaker. I want to install a speaker in the left hand side of the rear- deck, but am uncertain as to if I should put a speaker-cover on the deck.

I have one in my 66 Bel and my 68 RR. No cover over the perforated package tray.
