Good morning everyone,
Is it possible to change a clutch fork without separating the bell housing from the block? I currently don't have a clutch fork. No markings on Bell. Are most big block forks interchangeable? First time working on MOPAR.
Thanks in advance.

it can be installed with a bell housing in place. It takes a lot of patience because you are aligning the pivot clip with the clips on the throw out bearing at the same time.
I'm not sure how many different kinds of arms there are but the one you're looking for I think is 10 7/8 overall length. Brewers and passion performance are a833 specialist and both very helpful.

I just went through this. The RR I purchased had the wrong clutch fork installed. It was too long. I called Brewers to get the right one and they said I would have to pull the tranny to change it, the casting numbers are under the trans anyway. We verified which BB bell housing I had by description, mine has a dual bolt pattern. They sent me the correct fork and pivot and I changed them with out pulling trans, a bit tricky but it can be done.,,,Ed

Easy as can be with that dust cover access compared to doing it on a Lakewood scatter shield through the fork hole, I can guarantee you that!

.......Is it possible.........
It can be done. You need to be very careful.
How I see it, you are trying to force the fork into three spring loads at the same time. One at the fork pivot, and two on the release bearing pads. The closer the bearing is to the PP, the easier the two bearing clips can slide over the fork tips. The bearing may spin and only seat one side on you. Make sure you check that both springs are on properly.
BTW, if you get the urge, getting too aggressive with a BFH and smacking the fork end could crack your bearing retainer tube on you.

Now that I've slept on it I remember I put the fork mostly in place I pivoted the throw out bearing so that I could put the top clip on the fork first and that left only aligning the bottom clip and the pivot at the same time if that makes any sense

They make different lengh forks you have to match the correct one to the casting # on the bell housing I believe otherwise the through out bearing could go passed centerline or not far enough in relation to the main drive pinion.

Be aware there are different height stands for the fork as well. They bolt into the bell. They can be swapped in the car as well.
