Big block into small block chassis differences?

Why not just make a pattern and cut up the small block inners or just not cut or replace them at all?

Because is not just the cut, but also a bent flange/edge and the holes for the clips. Having the parts... why not?

Yeah, I was disappointed to learn of the 73-74 K-frame differences (/6-SB vs BB). Put a crimp in my plans, especially it took a long time for the new Schumacher owners to make the modded mounts for SB to BB. Anyone know why Chrysler started that in '73, 2 different k frames?
