I had bought some Bilstein rear shocks and I am getting ready to install them. The problem I'm having is the torque for the upper part of the shock is 70 ft/lbs. In the box there are 3 bushings. One of those will press into the rubber bushing of the shock, now if you look at the pic, the bushing is obviously much shorter than the opening in the yoke.
So here's my question, how do I torque the bolt to 70 ft/lbs without squeezing the heck out of the yoke.
I have the same problem with the spacers being too short.
The shocks came with installation kit B4-KT1-Z236A00 containing two short spacers 1.291 x .505 and one longer spacer in its own bag 1.473 x .557.
However, the spacers are all too short; the longer one by about 5/32”. In addition, the longer spacer inside diameter is too large by about 1/16” making for quite a bit of slop with the bolt inserted.
So, I have to purchase two new spacers.
The black shock is the Bilstein and the silver one is the KYB I am replacing. (Incidently, I had no problem with the KYB front bushings or rear spacers.)
Apparently, P-S-T sent me the wrong rear shocks 55-R093 when I should have 55-R126. I called them and they are sending out the correct shocks with a mailing label to return the wrong shocks.
Texas69bee, did you get 55-R093 for your rear shocks, too?

I've heard a lot of good things about them but they sure don't seem to fit right...
The bushing in the rear, I ended up stacking some washers together. I just thought that was what everyone was doing.
In the front, I assumed that the bushings should fit tight in the shock tower to center the location of the shock and prevent it from moving out of position. I ended up buying another set of bushings from PST to get those centered.
