I guess this question should be directed at Donny but I will throw it out there
I have a pretty large blasting cabinet (it's big enough to put a Torqueflite trans case inside)
I usually have glass beads in it I think I need something a little more abrasive to do my bumper brackets, backing plates, etc
what would you recommend?
it worked Ok with my old compressor just not on a continual basis

soon as my new shed is done I'm up grading to a much bigger compressor
Thanks

One thing with the cabinet you have to evacuate the dust in order to continue to work. Do you have a dust collector? Glass beads, can you tell me more...maybe post a pic of what they look like? Compressors and Dust collectors get very pricey, it's a border line to cross; either you are a well funded hobbyist, or you get a pro to do the blasting. If you buy the $$ stuff, how often are you going to use it? Tell me or post a pic of you cabinet, and your current cfm compressor stats. Good luck!

wow that was quick!
yes I do have a dust collector set up on it it's buried now in one of sheds till I get my Garage /shed built.
as soon a I dig it out I'll post some pictures.

I use this for little stuff, we had one in the trans shop I worked at was great for clean splines on stators and input out put shafts.
this is the compressor I have for my shop

like I said it's for small stuff, the nearest guy I have to do big stuff is about 1.5 hours away nice work but pricey and takes forever

Yeah, I know it was quick! Haha, I just happened to see it pop up as I was leaving this morning. The a/c is a good unit, it will be working 100% most of the time, which wears em out faster, but, the next up a/c unit is double that price (at least). Post pics when you can, I too am working on setting up my new blast cabinet, but, this is a big one, I can fit a fender in it!

I was thinking aluminum oxide I need to blast some rust off my bumper brackets
and trans crossmember
what grit should I get?

AO is good stuff, very aggressive, this is why I use just a dash in my mixture, however, it wears out my expensive plastic faster; trade offs in everything in this business, for me, my comfort zone is fast removal of 'crud' = less compressor time, less time in the blast suit, and clean substrate = happy customer b/c less time 'working' as I am $150.00 per hour, billed by the minute. As I said, trade offs, and big up front costs to do this kind of work, but, nothing can touch it when the finished product is finished. Good luck!
