Bob Hover Dead At 94

Well known name in the vintage warbird community, one of the greatest old school pilots on earth...

FYI we had the Collings Foundation planes at the Burlington, NC airport last week. I was driving to work and I notice this plane crossing at a few thousand feet altitude in front of me, the shape was puzzling so I watched it turn to see the twin tail booms of a B-24. Excitedly I took the next exit and headed to the airport in time to see Witchcraft taxi up, there was a B-17 (Nine-O-Nine) already on the tarmac. In a few minutes a twin seat P-51 lands (Toulouse Nuts) followed by a B-25 (Tondelayo). I tried to get my Dad who is a few months from 90 and was a crew chief on P-51's in the Pacific let me take him but he was too sick to go. We put him in the hospital a few days later for a tune up. As for me something about those planes stir the very fiber of my being...built models of all of them growing up..
