Bought a 70

I think we need to take up a collection to buy Mark a new stool, or at least a fresh roll of duct tape to fix it!

Arent they all that dirty at this stage? LOL

some more than others..... :poke:

anyway, it'll never be this dirty again......... or wobbly :drama:

rain today and tomorrow, but she's almost ready for blasting (need to scrape undercoat from rails and inner rockers) ...........unlike the TV shows, where they send the car out to get blasted first; then replace all the blasted metal and never show us the rusty inners :jackoff:

I'm thinking of starting a gofundme for a new seat........ this one has been rebuilt at least 3 times and merged with another one.......

maybe I'll sign it and offer it as a door prize at the tent :bananadance:

well, I knew if I dug deep enough...... I'd find a Road Runner under there somewhere.

I removed whatever undercoat was easily accessible, there won't be much left when I get the car on it's side. Rear seat pan is about it.

I'm gonna degrease the torsion bar sockets and the front suspension areas....... then we're blasting!

Scraping undercoating sucks! But it is so well preserved under there.

For a car that appeared pretty solid, you had to go in pretty deep Dubb!

a little deeper than usual, BUT.........

non vinyl top car, so no roof rust to deal with

fenders, doors, and trunk lid appear to have almost zero rust issues; maybe a little clean up in the rear trunk lid seam

I'm getting the paint this week, so I can cut things in as they go back together..... I'm kinda pumped, I've left myself good everywhere.

most of them are far more rusty than cars 20 years ago........we know rust is kind of like an ice berg, you can't see the majority of it

also....... with the availability of full sheet metal parts, instead of patch panels; we go much deeper into the car than in the past.

My GTX is a perfect example....... quarter skins/ and a few trunk patches. I did undo my doors and put skins on them about 10 years ago. also a full AMD floor...... I didn't really have to. Everyone else was getting the AMD treatment, and I was feeling left behind; but I don't see myself cutting into the back of my car.
