After a few years of tent camping we decided to upgrade!!! This weekend we will go for our first trip to test things out. There will not be any power hookups at this site but I have tested everything but the A/C as I do not have a 30amp circuit to run it. We have all of the basics but is there anything that you suggest or just like to have on your trips?

Some board games and a fire extinguisher.

...nice trailer. Sure beats Tenting any day.

We have the fire extinguisher and will be adding more board games. UNO is one of the best camping as the kids have a blast.

Get a travel size YAHTZEE....that's a lot of fun....even if the kids do try and cheat.

First aid kit.....
Small battery operated fan if no.power available....

Snacks and drinks of course.....

Testing it as you are doing is the key...

Congrats on the purchase!

I have had a couple of trailers. The most fun I have ever had.

Make sure your water tank is sanitized and filled if no hook ups. I like to have a battery powered drill (with socket) if those are manual jacks.

Make sure propane tanks are full and plenty of toilet paper. We went from tent to popup, motor home and back to tent. There is just the 2 of us now motel is the way we go.

Make sure the toilet paper is for RV toilets, not the regular house stuff. because it will clog up the system.....they sell it at Camping World and other RV pats/supply stores.

Nice looking trailer. I'd like to travel the country in a few years and I've thought of dragging around a trailer or traveling via motorhome (one with a van front end). Anyone got any thoughts or comments between the two?

I would get a designated grease gun for it and bearing buddies if it doesn't already have them. There is nothing worse than having to beat a bearing race off of a locked up axle on the side of the road. A spare tire and an extra set of bearings is a good idea. A solar panel on the roof is also nice to keep the batteries fresh. A Perko switch to isolate the batteries will keep you from being stranded if someone leaves something on. A stack of boards to help with leveling the jacks is also a must and also work great to get the thing unstuck if it sinks in soft ground. Adaptors for the 220 power cord are nice to have in case your plug doesn't match their outlet. The list will go on and on but the more you prepare ahead of time the better you're experiences will be. It looks like a nice rig. Congratulations and enjoy!

I am totally jealous Milt. I have been looking into one for some time now and the only way to do it is to actually sell the '66 Ply Sat. But I can't seem to pull the trigger. But soon I can be certain of that. By the way...Did you pick that up through Camping World or one of the other places here in Nthr'n CA? And lastly...As your budget allows get an efficient generator as it helps in the event of no hook-ups to keep things running. But great looking trailer my Friend...Tuck:thumbsup::usflag:

Class A is my pref. I have had both Class C & A,
many miles/years in both,
best was a Safari/Magnum chassis 36ft Cummins/Allison pusher
I have a 36ft Travel trailer 5th wheel now, I went that route because
I was set up to haul my old race rig with the 2002 F-350...
I pref. the Motorhome for traveling,
just need a scooter strapped to the back or little car in tow...
But far easier to travel in the Motorhome IMO

We just picked up a "vintage" motorhome. 1976 Dodge c class. Ripped out the crusty carpet, curtains, upholstery and installed all new. Gave the interior a fresh coat of paint to brighten it up. The little 360 still has some go left it but I treat it gently as we head down the road. I was never a big camper, but this has been fun.
