Will the squirt can method work on a modern car with ABS and such??????

It will work but it won't flush fluid through the ABS valves, just the calipers, lines & master cylinder..

Nope... To do that you generally need a manufacturer specific scan tool..

Looks good, never seen anyone use calipers to check the fluid level before...

Just picked up this nifty tool to aid in bleeding brakes that I found online. It has an O-ring on the inside, so theoretically, it snaps over the bleeder and the fluid would pass straight through it and out the tube with no mess. This one is for 5/16" hex......

I made a power bleeder out of a pump spray bottle from Home Depot, clear tubing and a spare master cylinder cap

Don't even put fluid into the master cylinder, bolt everything together dry then start in the right rear & pump about ten squirts in through the bleeder screw and tighten the bleeder... Then move to the left rear & pump until fluid shows up in the master cylinder...

Then move to the right front... And pump til you just see fluid show up in the master cylinder.... Move to the left front & repeat... Top off the M/C... Go drive the car, your done...

yes... Best plan is to use a syringe or something similar to pull all the fluid out of both M/C reservoirs then push fluid from the bleeders back to the M/C to refill the reservoirs..

You need the bleeder screw to put the hose on.

I use a bleeder bottle with a cable to hang it, put a little fluid in it to cover the tube. I don’t think I can push fluid from the wheel to the master because my drum brake master has rubber check valves under the brass seats.

Every time your brakes release the fluid returns to the master... so you pumping fluid in from the wheel cylinder, up to the master, is no different...

Had a helper pumping holding brake pedal down and I'm not getting any fluid! Hmmm, said pump again I'm listening this time. Helper was pushing the gas pedal, it was not the wife. You have tell this helper exactly what to do. You would amazed at things that happen to my helper.
