Brake Light Switch Bracket Alignment

I'm trying to mount the brake light bracket on the brake pedal assembly for my 68 Sport Satellite and the hole isn't lining up with the pedal arm. Is this correct? I don't have the switch yet but based on the alignment I don't see how the switch will come in contact with the arm. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

There are two sets of slots, one for power brakes, the other for manual brakes....

The brake switch lines up with the brake pedal pushrod as seen below.
