After changing the alternator, battery and voltage regulator; in an attempt to find out why my 72 Satellite's dash voltmeter wasn't indicating that it was charging, I replaced the old wiring to the alternator and voltage regulator. The dash immediately registered that it was charging. When I dug out the old wires from the hard and cracking tape, I found an unconnected brown wire with all wires running to the alternator.

Does anyone know what this wire is suppose to go to or have any ideas.

Thanks for any help

John

Not positive on a '72, but on a '73 the brown wire runs from the - post on the coil to the lower left post on the ballast resistor.
