new member . 07-31-14 building 1970 plym GTX. !st thing just got the rims , going 18" frt and rear . 18x8 frt and 18x10 rear looking for tires that will fit under wheel wells without having to alter the orig car body ie sizes. ?
 
Welcome fellow 70 gtx'er, can't help you with your question because I thought I had big wheels at 15 inches.

pic's coming soon . putting interior together and will be looking for misc sm parts . installing wheels & tires now to get it driving bought 18"x 8 frt and 18"x10 rear now looking for help on what size tires to fit under the wheel wells without modifying the orig body . Want to fill up the lg area to make it tough looking .

allot depends on your specific wheels & backspacing, suspension, even the ride height too...

try searching the Brakes, Suspension, Tires & Rims , specific forum section, it will have a ton of tire diameter & wheel size & backspacing types of posts/threads...

about a 29.5"-30" x 13.5" girth, maybe with 12.5" of tread" is about the max in the rear, much less out front,

BUT "it depends on wheels, the backspacing, suspension components & ride heights etc."

There's a good tool from PERCEY tire fitment tool, for like $79 from either Summit or Jegs, if you want to capitalize on even smidgen of room you can get with your specific rim/tire etc. & car combo...
