The number 88 Daytona Charger went through many different configurations in the years Don raced the car.

Before becoming the number 88 Chrysler Engineering Daytona,the car started life as one of the 69 Charger 500 cars that were built for the public,and was used as a magazine test car. The car was stolen and recovered missing its engine and transmission. It was then sent to Nichols Engineering where it was built into chassis number DC 93 a Charger 500 stock car that raced and was crashed in the Daytona 500 as the number 99 driven by racecar driver Paul Goldsmith.

The number 88 Charger Daytona Chrysler Engineering car was recently painstakingly restored with no detail spared.

Gregs drive and perseverance brought back a piece of Chrysler's Nascar heritage that could have been lost forever! The car went to auction twice and didn't meet reserve the first time,then was sold at no reserve last year,which proved to be a year too early and the car was sold for less than half of what two Daytona's that were auctioned off recently sold for! Someone got a real bargain on a real piece of Mopar history!
