“No chance of any flames” with the “shunt wire” bypass? This described parallel alternator to battery wire run defeats any/all circuit protection for the car in the event of a short. Chances of flames are now increased many fold.Solve all your problems instantly by running a parallel 8ga. red wire directly from the Alt. battery post to the + battery post. Leave the factory wires through the bulkhead to the ammeter, etc. (This wiring will continue to power your headlights, ignition, fuse box, etc.) Just replace any damaged packard terminals or anything else that may have been messed up. Your ammeter will stay centered due to low current flow and no chance of any flames!! Simple and easy and no need to remove the front seat, etc. just to work under the dash. This is recommended by PowerMaster by the way.
You are correct.......I often wonder WHY these old threads never die but continue to live in infamy (??).......a possible reason is theNever ceases to amaze how these old threads keep coming back to life with the same misinformation again and again. Mad electrical again, really?
Missed this one.
