So I was clearing out a guys garage and picked up this manual transmission. He bought it from a trans shop about 10 years ago, made it to fit in a 1952 Ford street/strip 440 powered truck, blew the engine after 100 miles and it’s been sitting ever since. Trying to identify what it was out of by reading the vin, but I don’t have my parts books anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't read the VIN stamping, but it's a 23 spline 4-speed. The input shaft has been cut. It's got dual shifter mounts, so I'm guessing 1970 up B or E body. The shifter is in the B body position. Looks like they used a hydraulic clutch in their application.

Try rubbing a pencil over the numbers or take pictures from different angles. I've found if you use different angles the lighting can make the numbers stand out better.
