I got a carter comp series AFB 4V carb and the only stamping on the carb is C8. I did a search but could not find any info. Does anyone know what I got?

there isn't a stamping on the front lower left side?
Like this one?

the second set of numbers is the model number.

You should have four numbers. C8 could be a date code, which means Mar 68 or possibly (more likely) 78.

There should be four numbers but there is not, only the C8 stamp. Does not look like any of the stamping has been removed. It came on the 67 440 I bought.

No stamping just the C8. Figures I would get one miss stamped.

In that case measure the primary and secondary throttle bores. If 1-7/16" and 1-11/16" it's a 625. If all 1-11/16" it's about 700-750.

Thanks for the info, it will help me decide what to do with the carb.
