I have a 72 dodge d100 5.9 just recently put a Holley 4 barrel and intake on it. Truck runs like a champ in parkan netral but does when put in reverse or drive have even put another carb on thinking that was my problem but same thing. any advice would be greatly appreciated

Can you be more specific with what the problem is when in gear, doesn't want to run? Poor take off? Poor performance off idle can come from not enough advance, have you checked the timing, what the initial and how much advance does the vacuum advance pull in? Improperly set idle screws?

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal

maybe post this question in another approriate forum section,
or the general discussion section maybe,
it will get far more views, help & opinions that way....

This is the welcome wagon & it's not really intended as a Q&A tech section,
it's for getting to know each other, some background, some photos etc.

Is it a Magnum 5.9ltr that was/is computer controlled ?
or a LA 360/5.9ltr etc. ?
Have you set or even actually checked the float levels properly ?,
what jets ?, is it a center pivot floats or side pivot ?,
is it a vacuum sec. or mec. secondary or DP-er ? what ever...
Have you checked for vacuum leaks already ?
way too many variables so far to give a really informative answer...

Please remember that you need to add as much specific pertinent information as possible,
carb, manifold, camshaft, ignition & specific settings, carb tuning specifics,
squirter sizes, accel. pump sizes, fuel pump, acc. pump cam color,
the style & model of carb or any adjustment you've already tried or
any other changes, also & incl. what kind & year of car/truck it's in ??? etc.
that's if you want an actual knowledgeable answer,
to your questioning too...

I'm pretty sure someone on here will be able to help,
just follow rules recommendations & the guidelines 1st

good luck & happy Moparing
