Most cost-effective, reliable method.. please include suggestions for parts/components, and where to acquire them. This is an occasional driver that will not be racing, just cruising. Thanks!

I switched 4.10's to 3.54:1 in a Dana 60 with all new bearings. Gears don't cost too much, but it is alot of labor as everything is shimmed to fit in the Dana 60.
If it is a 8-3/4" it is way easier.

If it's a original 440-4spd car the 4:10 axle is a Dana 60, there are no 3.23 gears for a Dana 60...

The quick & easy way to accomplish this is to bolt in a 3.23 geared 8.75 axle assembly...
Set the 4.10 Dana aside but keep it with the car...
