      Yours is 10 quart.
You can run as little as 9 quarts with no issues

I have the same pan. It has a calibrated dipstick added to the kick out. With a single line Indy pump I run 7 qts (measured in the pan) with zero issue. At 6 1/2 qts I see the pressure gauge drop to 40 on hard shut down.

I'm not sure how that would work with 7 quarts especially if its wider at the bottom giving you less oil to cover the swinging pickup. Hard decel will definitely uncover the pickup
I guess only other option would be to use a 3 quart accusing for added protection.

          Dartari,

how deep does the pan measure?
Mine is 6 3/4 inches deep with the same kick out including one in the rear and 9 quarts was the max I would put in it.. you can include a quart for the filter so 10.

If you can, pull the pan and count how many quarts of water it takes.

I've the same Charlie's pan. Been using it for years with a swinging pickup. I use 8 quarts in it without any issues.

Like I said before. Goodwin recommends 10 quarts in that specific oil pan.
I've run 8 quarts in mine and mine has a smaller footprint.
I didnt like my oil pressure going to 0 on decel
I added 1 quart at 9 and no issues.
            I now run a 3 quart accusump.
            I'm still at 9 quarts.
Izzy you're not a NHRA racer who's squeezing every once of hp out of your engine.
Be smart and run 9 quarts to be safe.

We welded a boss into the kick out area. Then added a factory tube bent to fit. Filled the pan with 6,7,8,9 qts adding one at a time and marked the stick accordingly. With the stock stick location the stick wont even touch the oil level until you have about 8 1/2 qts in the pan. Also the stock stick hits the bottom of the pan. Then it folds across to the passenger side giving a false reading.
