Chrysler 8 3/4 Rear Differential -- swap 741 to 489 case

1966 440 cu in Dodge Charger: The car has a 741 case with 297 gears. I have a 489 case with 323 gears. Will the 489 bolt in without having to modify the driveshaft or u bolt connections?

Measure the yoke on each, if they are the same it's a direct swap. If they are different it will require a combination U joint.

If going from a 7260 to a 7290 u joint.
Will need “Moog 347” to bridge the two different size yokes together.

Yes, as noted above. It will bolt right in, the two U joint sizes are 2 1/8 and 2 5/8" if I remember correctly. Crossover joints are readily available.
